About Us

Speed River Bicycle was founded in 1992 by Cosmo Carere, a Guelph local who was passionate about sharing his love of cycling with the rest of the city. Initially the main show room was directly behind our current location and was accessible off of Woolwhich St. In 1997/98 our current location became available and we moved the store to a bigger and brighter space that fronted onto downtown Guelphs major road, Wyndham St. This gave the stores customers easy access to convenient parking in the Baker St. parking lot and provided the shop with more room to grow.

Since its inception Speed River Bicycle has been devoted to providing top quality service and sales to every customer. We have always believed that cycling can help change the world, whether that change is through increased health, decreased pollution or simply increased quality of life. This is why the employees and owners of Speed River don`t just ride bikes, we live life as devoted cyclists. We ride (well, some of us walk) to work, to the grocery store and to the trails. We recommend the products that we do because we use them, each and every day.
